The Bible Prophecy Today website was created to provide
readers guidance on understanding Biblical prophecy. Knowledge
of the Word of God combined with an understanding of fulfilled
prophecy enables believers to easily relate the headline news in
the world today with prophecy yet to be fulfilled. The
Frequently Asked Questions page helps to answer some of the
basic questions readers might have concerning this website and its
relevance to the Word of God.

Q. Do you prophesy coming events? – No. God has provided
prophecy through the prophets of the Old Testament and Jesus
Christ, the Messiah, in the New Testament. Jesus warned us that
many false prophets would come after Him. We need only to
prayerfully study His Word to discern the prophetic events
occurring in the world today and prepare for His return and His
eternal kingdom.

Q. Why should I care about the current events in Jerusalem
and the Middle East? – Jerusalem is the center of the world’s
attention today. The contentious strife in the Middle East
centers on the territory belonging to
Israel, particularly the
city of Jerusalem. Worldwide anti-Semitism is growing as Israel
rightfully defends the land given to her by God Almighty. The
day is fast approaching when the Gentile nations
including
pan-Islamic alliances will attempt to destroy Israel and lay
claim to Jerusalem. However, Christ will return to save Israel
from total destruction and put an end to Gentile domination. He
will rule from Jerusalem and establish His eternal kingdom,
which will exist on this earth for 1,000 years.

Q. How will the world end and what does it mean for the human
race? – The end of times and the end of the world are not the
same. The end of times refers to the end of
Gentile rule and
domination over Israel. This will occur when Christ
returns to
earth at the battle of Armageddon. A remnant of the human race,
both Jew and gentile, will live in peace and prosperity for
1,000 years [the Millennium] under the theocratic rule of Christ
from His throne in Jerusalem. Israel
will be the greatest nation
on earth. The end of this world will come after the Millennium age when God destroys the earth by fire and creates a new
heaven and earth.

Q. Are prophecies from sources other than the Bible included
in your website? – No. Prophecies not found in the
Bible are false. The Koran (Imam Mahdi), the Book of Mormon, Jehovah's Witnesses, Nostradamus, the Mayan
Calendar, Hopi, Hindu and other false doctrines are to be avoided. Apparitions of the Virgin Mary and Biblically acclaimed saints,
and apparitions of church canonized saints have no Biblical basis for delivering prophecy. Apparitions are at best
self-induced hallucinations and at worst demonic angels appearing as angels of light.

Q. Are there many ways to God? – No. Jesus Christ, the
Messiah, is the only truth and way to God the Father. All other
ways lead to hell. We cannot save ourselves by good works,
penance or following others. Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten
Son, freely gave Himself on the cross to bear our sins and take
our punishment. Asking Christ for forgiveness and trusting in
Him through faith and repentance is the only way to
salvation.

Q. How do I pray for healing? – Jesus Christ is the only source
for healing. The elders of the church are to anoint the sick with oil and pray over them in the name of the Lord as
instructed in James 5:14. In the Book of Acts, the Apostle Paul prayed
for the sick while laying his hands on them. The practice of touching or kissing church icons or relics is not supported
by scripture. They are as ineffective as good-luck charms and, worst of all, they become idols that are an abomination to God.

Q. I am not familiar with the Bible. Where is a good place to
start reading? – Start with the book of Romans in the New Testament. This book was written by the apostle Paul as a letter
to the early Christians in Rome. He explains what Christianity is and how God has delivered the good news of salvation to
all who accept it. The Old Testament points to the Savior while the New Testament is a witness of the first advent
of Christ, the Messiah. For a first read in the Old Testament, the book of Ecclesiastes describes the vanity
of life without God. Ecclesiastes is one of the five books of wisdom and poetry.

Q. Why do I need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? –
Christ is the only name on earth and in heaven by which anyone
can be saved. When we sincerely ask Christ, in faith and
repentance, to forgive us of our sins, He immediately covers us
by His blood, which was shed on the cross for us. He is our
advocate before the Father. When God sees us clothed in His
righteousness, we are also made righteous. There is no
condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Q. What does faith and repentance mean? – Without faith we
cannot please God. And without repentance our faith is dead. The
demons believe in God but they cannot repent and be saved.
Repentance means to move away from our willful practice of sin
and toward a Christ-centered practice of righteousness.
Salvation is a gift from God through Jesus Christ. But we must
act on it by receiving Christ and trusting Him through faith and
repentance. We will never be perfect while on this earth, but
Christ promises us the Holy Spirit to guide us in righteousness.
It is an ongoing process of sanctification.

Q. How do I pray and what prayer of asking will God always
answer 'yes'? – Jesus taught His disciples to pray a simple, yet
powerful prayer. It is known as the Lord’s Prayer, which is
found in Matthew 6:9-13 and
Luke 11:2-4. This prayer
acknowledges God as supreme, that His kingdom will be
established on earth as His will is done on earth and in heaven.
We are to acknowledge God as our provider, and to ask Him to
forgive our sins as we forgive others who wrong us. For guidance
we ask God to lead us away from temptation and deliver us from
Satan, “the evil one”. There is one petition that God will
always grant us. It is the sinner’s prayer for forgiveness
and salvation.

Q. How do I choose a church? – There are a few simple guidelines to follow.
First, Jesus must be acknowledged as Christ, the Messiah, the only begotten son of God who gave His life
on the cross for the remission of sins. The church doctrine must accept the Bible, which comprises
the Old Testament and New Testament, as the infallible Word of God. The King James Version is the foundation and the basis
for modern translations. The church must strictly follow the teachings of Jesus and not include other canons. Any
teaching not supported by scripture is heresy and in the spirit of an antichrist.
